Land Development

HHR’s land development expertise includes site planning/feasibility studies, stormwater management, roadway design, and erosion, sedimentation and pollution control. Our expertise includes parking lot layouts, site grading, onsite wastewater treatment, municipal sewer and water extensions, coordination with utility companies, designing sites in all terrain types, from steep mountain regions to flat coastal plains, and working carefully with local government officials to prepare designs which comply with all local requirements. An important feature of our site design experience is coordinating with the client’s architect to achieve an overall project that meets the client’s design objectives. Our engineers have experience working with local officials to follow local stormwater management requirements.

HHR understands and applies the erosion, sedimentation and pollution control requirements for construction projects. Members of our staff are certified licensed instructors for erosion control, and teach erosion control to TxDOT employees. We have completed SW3P plans in Texas, and ESPCC designs in Georgia and North Carolina. In addition to working with local and state regulations, our engineers have experience with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater permitting program.
